Armed tension erupts in Lahj’s Al-Mudharabah, Ras Al-Arah

LHAJ, Sept. 12 (YPA) – Districts of Al-Mudharabah and Ras Al-Arah in Lahj province have witnessed unprecedented armed tensions after dozens of recruits affiliated with Tariq Saleh threatened to confront the arrogance of Saudi-backed Security Belt factions.

Sources familiar with the matter said hundreds of Tariq Saleh’s forces categorically refused to hand over their personal weapons to Security Belt forces in Al-Mudharabah and staged an open-ended sit-in in the area.

The sources said the deterioration of their living and psychological conditions had reached the point where they were threatening direct confrontation with the factions, which they described as regionalist.

The Security Belt and Al-Amaliqa Brigades factions had previously refused to allow Tariq’s fighters to enter Aden carrying their personal weapons, forcing many of them to sell their weapons at very low prices.

Some officers loyal to Saudi Arabia also set fire to military vehicles instead of handing them over to Saudi-backed factions in Ras Al-Arah, amid irresponsible actions.

Kamel Al-Khudani, a figure close to Tariq Saleh, revealed in a post on X last Thursday that women and children traveling to Aden had been subjected to looting, including the theft of money and jewelry, as well as violations of their privacy and humiliating treatment by southern forces.

Al-Khudani said most of the women had their phones confiscated and their personal bags searched, describing the practices as humiliating and completely contrary to the values and morals of Yemeni society.
