SANAA, Aug. 02 (YPA) – A recent report published by Bloomberg stated that India has informed US officials of its lack of interest in purchasing the F-35 stealth fighter, despite increasing pressure from Washington to expand its defense imports from the United States.
The report, citing informed officials who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the discussions, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government does not intend to proceed with any major US defense deals in the near future, despite Washington’s continued efforts to conclude high-value military contracts.
The F-35 offer is considered part of broader US efforts to strengthen defense industrial ties with India, especially after New Delhi’s surge in purchases of American equipment in recent years, such as MH-60R Seahawk helicopters and P-81 maritime patrol aircraft.
