DHAMAR, July 30 (YPA) – About eight 2.4 to 4.4-magnitude earthquakes were recorded on Wednesday in the Red Sea, according to Dhamar-based Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
Head of the center, Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, stated that the monitoring stations detected a 6.5-magnitude quake south of the Fiji Islands, and another major quake of magnitude 8.7 at 2:24 a.m. off the coast of Kamchatka, Russia.

The Red Sea earthquakes followed seven tremors measuring between 3.9 to 4.5 magnitude recorded on Tuesday, followed by six other tremors at a depth of 10 km, and then a marine earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale at a depth of 7 km.
