UAE-based researcher urges STC factions to seize opportunity to expel Saudi forces

ADEN, Sept. 12 (YPA) – The head of the Abu Dhabi-based Center for Political Studies, Khaled Al-Shamiri, on Friday urged southern Yemenis and factions loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) to seize a historic opportunity to end Saudi tutelage and remove the Saudi-backed government based at Maashiq Palace in Aden.

Khaled al-Shamiri said in a post on X that Riyadh is currently weakened and exhausted, along with its failed ‘legitimacy.’

He said the current situation offers people in the southern provinces a historic opportunity, perhaps one that may not come again, to expel Saudi-backed factions and proxies, particularly the “Emergency” forces.

Al-Shamiri stressed the need for STC-affiliated factions to seize the opportunity to administer and secure the southern regions free from foreign intervention and Saudi influence.
