AOHRB accuses US-backed GHF of committing genocidal in Gaza

GAZA, July 28 (YPA) – The Arab Organization for Human Rights in Britain (AOHRB) accused on the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) of committing war crimes and genocidal against humanity in collaboration with security companies, since May 27 in the Gaza Strip.

This came after AOHRB had filed a formal complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the GHF by transforming aid distribution centers into “death traps” targeting civilians in the Strip.

The organization noted that the complaint was supported by physical evidence and satellite images showing that these centers were designed with deceptive military intent, where civilians are shot or shelled as they seek food and medicine.

It also stated that field testimonies and independent reports confirmed the ongoing killings around these centers, which were run within a “military agenda” and used as a cover for a systematic starvation policy.

The organization accuses officials from GHF of playing a pivotal role in obstructing the delivery of UN aid, leading to the deaths of dozens, including children, due to food and medicine shortages and threatening the lives of tens of thousands with famine. The organization notes that the organization’s officials have not presented a clear legal position, contenting themselves with “vague” statements that amount to justification for the massacres.

The AOHRB warned that the officials feel immune due to “American political cover” and its ties to a regional state with strategic interests linked to the Israeli occupation, which is suspected of turning a blind eye to or supporting these crimes.

The Arab Organization for Human Rights renewed its call for the United Kingdom and the European Union to impose immediate sanctions on the GHF’s officials under the Magnitsky Act, calling on the international community to initiate legal proceedings.

It also called for Rafah to be transformed into an international launching pad for breaking the siege on Gaza and opening safe corridors for aid under UN supervision.

The GHF emerged in early 2024 as a relief organization, but human rights and field reports had questioned the nature of its work, asserting that it had been operated under a humanitarian cover concealing security and military agendas. It has been suspected of collaborating with private security companies and unaccountable armed groups, and of turning relief centers into “traps” for targeting civilians.

These accusations coincided with the worst humanitarian crisis in Gaza’s history, where a severe famine overlaps with a genocidal war waged by Israel, with US support, since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli occupation has been continuing to close the Gaza Strip’s crossings to aid since March 2, resulting in the deaths of 133 Palestinians, including 87 children, from starvation and malnutrition. The war has left more than 204,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.
