GAZA, July 12 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces committed, on Saturday evening, a horrific massacre in the Beach refugee camp, west of Gaza City, killing and wounding a number of people, including infants and women, in a bombing that targeted a densely populated house.
Medical sources at Al-Shifa Medical Complex reported that ambulance crews recovered the bodies of several martyrs from under the rubble, including children with torn bodies and mothers killed while hugging their children, in a scene that paramedics described as “shocking” and unbearably cruel.
Eyewitnesses from inside the camp said that a missile fired by an Israeli warplane targeted the home of a displaced family who had taken refuge there to escape the combat zones east of the city, indicating that the violent explosion completely destroyed the house and scattered body parts in the alleys of the camp.
“We heard a terrible explosion. We rushed to the location and found the scene catastrophic. The children were scattered to the ground, and some were asleep and were targeted in their beds without prior warning,” a camp resident added.
For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza condemned this crime, stressing that targeting defenseless civilians in their shelters represents a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law, and reveals “the true face of the Israeli military machine, which does not distinguish between a resistance fighter and an infant.”
