SANAA, Sept. 17 (YPA) – Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, stated that Saudi claims regarding Yemen targeting Mecca represent a desperate attempt to mobilize nations, asserting that public awareness is sufficient to recognize Saudi Arabia’s true position toward Islamic holy sites.
Al-Mashat emphasized that the Yemeni people are committed to protecting Islamic holy sites and are ready to make sacrifices for the Grand Mosque, citing their support for Al-Aqsa Mosque. He noted that Yemenis routinely take to the streets in response to insults against Islamic sanctities, including the Holy Quran, the Prophet, Mecca, and Al-Aqsa.
He added that Saudi Arabia should have instead mobilized Islamic nations when Donald Trump made disrespectful remarks about the Kaaba, asserting that whoever gifted the Kaaba cover to Jeffrey Epstein is the one targeting Mecca and Islamic holy sites.
Al-Mashat concluded that Saudi claims are no longer credible to Arab and Islamic nations, just as previous allegations regarding threats to international navigation failed to gain traction.
