ADEN, June 28 (YPA) – Dozens of women demonstrated on Saturday in Aden city, which is controlled by Saudi-led coalition forces, demanding improved services and living conditions.
The demonstration, known as the “Aden Women’s Revolution,” toured through Arwa Street and Banks Square in the Crater district, near Ma’ashiq Palace, the headquarters of the coalition-backed government.
The participants held up banners demanding a decent life due to power outages lasting approximately 20 hours a day and the deterioration of the local currency, which has led to rising prices of basic goods without government intervention.
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s factions prevented the demonstrators from reaching some areas by blocking streets and deploying female forces armed with batons and military vehicles.
The “Aden Women’s Revolution,” which began in May, is demanding improved services such as electricity and water, price controls, and salary increases. The movement called on the city’s women to continue peaceful demonstrations to restore their rights and achieve a better future for generations.
