Islamic Jihad: ‘Israeli attacks will not break Palestinian resolve’

GAZA, Aug. 05 (YPA) – Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Movement said on Tuesday that the ongoing Israeli occupation’s offensive and killings would not break the resilience of the Palestinian people or weaken their determination to continue the struggle for liberation, while paying tribute to members of the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasayna families killed in Gaza.

In a statement issued during the funeral of several members of the two families, the movement expressed its condolences and praised the steadfastness of Palestinian families, saying their perseverance and resistance remain the path toward liberation.

It said the victims were killed in one of the deadliest massacres committed against civilians in November 2023.

The statement added that their bodies remained buried under the rubble until late July and early August 2026, alleging that the occupation’s restrictions and repeated threats against civil defense and emergency crews delayed their recovery.

According to the statement, civil defense teams eventually recovered and buried the bodies despite limited resources.

The movement’s statement described the violations as further evidence of Israeli occupation’s war of genocide and condemned what it characterized as the international community’s failure to hold the occupation’s leaders accountable.
