One killed, another injured in new Israeli attack on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, June 28 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation continued its repeated attacks on southern Lebanon, on Saturday, targeting a civilian’s car with a drone strike, resulting in casualties, including one martyr and one wounded, less than 24 hours after a series of major attacks.

A statement issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Health’s Emergency Operations Center, carried by the Lebanese National News Agency, stated that an Israeli drone strike on a car in the town of Kounine resulted in an updated death toll to one martyr and one wounded.

Lebanese media sources indicated that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb near a citizen on the outskirts of the town of Kafr Kila, as part of ongoing Israeli attacks on the southern regions.

Yesterday, the occupation committed a new crime in the city of Nabatieh, when its warplanes raided a residential apartment, resulting in the death of a woman and the wounding of 11 civilians with varying injuries.

After the crime, the occupation expanded its bombing campaign, targeting the hills overlooking Nabatieh, launching a series of strong and violent raids that reached the Ali al-Taher heights in the southern town of Kfar Tibnit.

Lebanese sources have recorded more than 3,700 Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory since the ceasefire until today, resulting in the martyrdom of 191 citizens and the injury of more than 420 others with varying injuries.

Observers believe that this ongoing escalation confirms the occupation’s continued policy of targeting Lebanese areas, amid local demands to stop these attacks and protect civilians.
