STC taxes prevent domestic gas from reaching four provinces

ADEN, June 28 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions imposed exorbitant taxes on domestic gas tankers, causing a severe crisis in Aden and other provinces such as Lahj, Dhalea, and Taiz.

These factions detained approximately 50 gas tankers at a newly established checkpoint in the Hassan area after drivers refused to pay taxes exceeding 200,000 riyals per tanker.

The drivers described this as “extortion,” leading to the disruption of gas supplies from the Safer terminal in Marib and further exacerbating the situation.

The price of domestic gas cylinders in Aden has risen to 9,000 riyals, exacerbating the suffering of citizens. The crisis continues with gas tankers refusing to be transported until the detained tankers are released.
