Health Ministry: Gaza’s hospitals facing severe and critical shortage of blood units

GAZA, June 12 (YPA) -The Ministry of Health in Gaza has warned that hospitals are facing a severe and critical shortage of blood units, due to the continuous rise in the number of wounded and the tightened Israeli blockade, which is hindering the entry of medical supplies.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that the ability of citizens to donate blood declined due to malnutrition and a lack of basic necessities.

The Ministry issued an urgent appeal to international and humanitarian organizations, as well as the United Nations, calling for immediate intervention and pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to urgently allow the entry of sufficient quantities of blood units and their medical supplies.

It also called on the international community and human rights organizations to uphold their moral and humanitarian responsibilities and to act urgently to save the lives of hundreds of patients and wounded.
