Tariq Saleh’s remarks spark widespread ridicule, reveal coalition’s false slogans

SANAA, June 04 (YPA) – The statements made by Tariq Saleh, the Deputy President of the so-called “Presidential Leadership Council” and leader of the UAE-backed factions in the city of Mocha, sparked widespread ridicule on Monday, highlighting the false slogans promoted under the banners of the republic and nationalism.

Saleh, who heads the so-called “Guardians of the Republic” forces, funded by the UAE, clearly demonstrated his allegiance to foreign powers, particularly the UAE and its Western supporters seeking to expand their influence near the strategically vital Bab al-Mandab region, which has gained increased importance in the geopolitical context, especially after the prominent role played by Sanaa forces in supporting Palestinian resistance during “The Al-Aqsa Flood” operation.

Saleh’s remarks were not surprising but reflected his late recognition of the significant defeat faced by the Western axis. They also underscored a major shift in the regional balance of power, with Sanaa emerging as a formidable force.

He implicitly acknowledged the U.S.’s inability to counter missile attacks from Sanaa forces, which targeted American aircraft carriers in the Red and Arabian seas, forcing them to withdraw after suffering substantial losses, including three F-18 fighter jets and the downing of about seven MQ-9 drones within a few weeks in Yemeni airspace.

Meanwhile, expectations pinned on Tariq Saleh by Hebrew media, which once praised his role in countering Sanaa forces and diverting their focus from supporting Gaza, have dwindled.

This new setback, marked by Saleh’s admission of regional shifts, follows initial disappointment when U.S. forces withdrew from direct confrontation with Yemen.

In a discussion with his supporters, Saleh acknowledged a new equation that has surpassed his and other Saudi-led coalition-loyal factions’ capacities. Though he claimed that Sanaa receives international support beyond Iran, he did not provide substantial evidence to support this assertion.

Saleh’s confessions were just another episode in a series of revelations of the false pretexts the Saudi-led coalition is using in its war on Yemen, using the pretext of the “republic” while they are immersed in subservience and service to Yemen’s enemies.
