WHO condemns destruction of Dialysis Center by Israeli occupation in Gaza

GENEVA, June 04 (YPA) – The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, condemned the destruction of the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza by Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday.

In a post on the platform X, Tedros stated that the Noura Dialysis Center in northern Gaza has now been reduced to rubble. He emphasized that the destruction of this medical facility puts kidney failure patients’ lives in immediate danger.

He noted that the center previously provided services to 40 patients weekly before its destruction, pointing out that the WHO managed to relocate 20 of the 23 dialysis machines from the facility to a safe location before its demolition.

Tedros reiterated his call for a ceasefire and urged the urgent protection of all healthcare facilities and workers. His post included a comparison image, showing the center’s intact building last year alongside its current state as rubble.

Medical sources have stressed that the destruction of this center presents a dire health crisis for kidney patients in northern Gaza. They highlighted that 41 percent of kidney failure patients have died during campaigns of mass extermination due to being denied access to dialysis services and the destruction of specialized centers.
