Hamas announces its official position on Wittkoff’s proposal

GAZA, June 04 (YPA) -Hamas leader Basem Naim said that the movement has informed mediators that it is ready for a new round of negotiations, but not based on the proposal by US envoy Steve Wittkoff with its recent amendments, which do not guarantee a complete cessation of the aggression on Gaza.

In a press statement on Tuesday evening, Naim emphasized, “We cannot agree to any deal that does not guarantee an end to the war and the aggression on the Gaza Strip.”

The Hamas leader explained that Wittkoff came up with a proposal entirely different from the one previously agreed upon in the latest round

Naim clarified that Wittkoff’s new proposal included vague wording that does not ensure a halt to the war on Gaza.

He noted that countries around the world, including Israel’s allies, have become convinced that Netanyahu is the one who is obstructing the path to an agreement.

Naim affirmed that Hamas and all Palestinian factions will not miss any opportunity to stop the war and aggression on Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, but only if real guarantees are provided.
