Irish’s FM: What is happening in Gaza goes against our humanity

WORLD, May 22 (YPA) -Irish Foreign Minister Simon Harris said that what is happening in the Gaza Strip — from the genocidal war to the obstruction of humanitarian aid — is an insult to human dignity and a blatant violation of international law.

” What is happening goes against our humanity. It goes against the strongly held values of the people of Ireland. It goes against the desire for peace, stability and security,” Harris said in a press statement on Wednesday.

He pointed out that Israel’s obstruction of humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip is a blatant violation of international law, noting that the aid Israel has allowed into Gaza is insufficient and that the new distribution mechanism is ineffective.

Harris explained that Israel has launched a new ground operation in Gaza, which has drastically worsened the situation, adding that medics, journalists, and children are being targeted in the Strip. “It is heartbreaking to witness this day and night,” he said.

He called on “Israel” to put an end to the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, warning that alarm bells are ringing over the potential death of 15,000 children in the territory.
