SANAA, April 02 (YPA) – Aden and the southeastern provinces of Yemen witnessed on Wednesday an unprecedented collapse of the local currency, during Eid al-Fitr, exacerbating the country’s economic crisis while remaining stable in Sanaa-held areas.
According to banking sources, the US dollar exchange rate exceeded 2,341 Yemeni riyals for sale and 2,324 riyals for purchase, while the Saudi riyal exchange rate reached 613 riyals for sale and 610 riyals for purchase.
In Sanaa, exchange rates have shown stability following the implementation of financial measures introduced by the Central Bank to support currency steadiness. The exchange rate for the US dollar stands at 542 Yemeni riyals for the sale and 537 riyals for the purchase
