GAZA, Mar. 24 (YPA) – Palestinian journalist Hussam Shabat was killed on Monday as a result of an Israeli airstrike on Salah al-Din Street in the northern Gaza Strip.
This comes as part of the ongoing systematic targeting of journalists and media workers in the Strip.
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced, in an official statement, that the number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip has risen to 208 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, following the death of Hussam Shabat.
The Media Office strongly condemned the targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists, describing it as a systematic crime aimed at silencing the truth and preventing the world from communicating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The office also called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all international media organizations to condemn these crimes and take action to prosecute their perpetrators. It called on the international community to take urgent steps to ensure the protection of Palestinian journalists.
