Zionist enemy escalates its crimes in city of Tulkarm, its camp, deploys more military reinforcements

WEST BANK, Feb. 19 (YPA) -The Zionist enemy forces pushed more military vehicles and bulldozers into the city of Tulkarm and its camp on Tuesday evening, amidst escalation of destruction of infrastructure, demolition, burning and bombing of homes.

The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” reported that the enemy’s bulldozers continued throughout the day to demolish a number of homes in the Tulkarm camp, which they had begun in the morning. Meanwhile, soldiers set fire to other homes, amid the sound of live ammunition being fired.

The occupation forces had notified the demolition of 14 homes inside the camp, under the pretext of paving a street in the middle of the camp extending from the Agency area to the Balawneh neighborhood.

Faisal Salama, head of the Popular Committee of Tulkarm Camp, stated that the enemy forces immediately began demolishing the homes this morning without giving their owners sufficient time to retrieve their belongings.

He added that a number of Palestinian citizens who managed to enter the camp were shocked by the extent of the massive destruction to their homes and contents, some of which had been burned.

He explained

the purpose of demolishing this number of houses, as each building consists of several floors housing dozens of families, is to reoccupy the camp and redraw an occupying military map within it to facilitate the movement of soldiers and vehicles, implement the policy of annexation, and alter its features.
