Lavrov: Russia and US to hold regular consultations on Ukraine

WORLD, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Russia and the United States will hold regular consultations on Ukraine after both sides appoint negotiating teams, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday at a press briefing following talks with US officials in Riyadh.

“As for the Ukraine issue, I mentioned the agreement that the Americans will appoint their representative and we will respond with reciprocity. After this, regular consultations will begin and will be regular,” Sergei Lavrov said.

Lavrov emphasized that the talks between representatives of Russia and the United States in Riyadh demonstrated significant interest in resuming consultations on geopolitical issues.

The Russian and American delegations held negotiations in Riyadh on February 18 that lasted about four hours and a half.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff participated in the negotiations on US behalf.
