Foreign girl kidnapped, raped in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Human rights sources revealed that a foreign girl was kidnapped and raped last week in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa governorate, which is under the control of the Emirati factions in southeastern Yemen.

The sources confirmed that an Ethiopian girl from Tigray was raped and forcibly disappeared in Ataq by the leaders of human trafficking gangs that had taken Shabwa as their den.

They explained that the gangs kidnap migrant girls who are transported by boat to the coasts of Radhum in Shabwa, film them and send the clips to their families in the Horn of Africa for blackmail and to obtain money in exchange for their release.

It is worth noting that human trafficking has been active on the coasts of Shabwa since last year, with the facilitation of the leaders of the Emirati factions in exchange for receiving sums of money in foreign currencies.
