GAZA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Salama Maarouf, confirmed, on Thursday, that the displaced people in the Gaza Strip faced a harsh night in tents due to the low pressure system.
Palestine Today News Agency quoted Marouf as saying: The civil defense crews are unable to rescue the residents due to the lack of capabilities, indicating that large quantities of water flooded the tents and homes of the citizens and they are now in the open.
Marouf demanded the provision of tents, prefabricated houses and equipment to restore streets and roads.
He pointed out that the silence of the international community encouraged the Zionist enemy to disrupt the entry of aid into the Strip.
“We received five percent of our tent needs, but no mobile homes have arrived, while the situation is getting worse with tents being blown away and aid being prevented from entering”,Marouf said.
“The office monitors daily violations and the occupation’s evasion of the provisions of the humanitarian protocol, and we submit daily reports on the enemy’s manipulation and prevention of aid from entering, but we have not seen any real pressure from international parties on the occupying entity,” he added.
A rainy depression accompanied by strong winds is hitting the Palestinian territories, which was enough to turn the lives of the displaced people in the Gaza Strip into a nightmare.
