ADEN, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Hundreds of protesters closed on Thursday the main streets in the Khor-Maksar area of Aden city, south of Yemen, in angry protests against economic disaster and deteriorating living conditions.
A local source said that the protesters blocked the main streets in Khor-Maksar with stones and burning tires, amid expectations of the ongoing demonstrations.
“The protests are still raging in the Sheikh Othman area, setting fire to damaged tires and stones and on the main road in front of the Al-Mamdara police station.
Aden’s various areas witnessed a nightly uprising against the coalition-backed Aden government due to the power outage in the city without providing a fuel shipment to the power plants for the past months, amid demands to expel the coalition and loyal leaders from the city.
The coalition has failed to provide the most basic services to the people of Aden since it took control of the city in early 2016, amid false promises that led citizens to economic disaster and deteriorating living conditions.
