Hamas to Israeli occupation: Give us mechanisms to retrieve remains of your citizens from under rubble
GAZA, Jan. 30 (YPA) – Hamas media advisor, Taher Al-Nono, stressed the necessity of bringing the necessary equipment and machinery into the Gaza Strip to remove the rubble and the effects of the destruction left by the Israeli bombing.
Al-Nono said in a statement to the RIA Novosti agency that the number of Israeli detainees supposed to be exchanged at this stage is 33, between the living and the dead, noting that “the remains of those who died at this stage are supposed to be handed over in the last week, but this actually requires the presence of equipment or mechanisms to remove the rubble and extract the bodies.”
Al-Nono added: “We do not know whether these bodies are above ground or underground, so we requested and stress the need for there to be mechanisms to remove the rubble, whether for the bodies of prisoners or for the martyrs of our people, the thousands of sons of the Palestinian people under the rubble, whereas part of the agreement is for these mechanisms to enter, and they must enter.”
