Israeli occupation army prepares for prolonged presence in occupied Syrian territories
SYRIA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Israeli occupation entity’s Minister of Security, Israel Katz, said on Tuesday that the Israeli army would remain in its recently occupied area in southern Syria indefinitely, citing the need to ensure resident security.
This came during his visit to military positions on Mount Hermon in Syria.
Katz emphasized, according to a statement issued by the so-called Ministry of Defense, that the entity would not allow the presence of what he described as “hostile forces” in southern Syria.
He pointed to Israeli efforts to strengthen relations with the local population, especially with the Druze community, which has ties to the entity.
