Parliament condemns US designation of Ansarullah as terrorist organization

SANAA, Jan. 24 (YPA) – The parliament of Yemen condemned on Friday the decision of the US administration to place Ansarullah in the so-called Foreign Terrorist Organizations list.

“This American designation is not only targeting Ansarullah but the entire Yemeni people, as part of revenge for its stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, ” the Parliament said in a statement.

“The decision reflects the US administrations’ bias toward the enemy entity (Israel) and their complicity in all its crimes against Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, and our people.”

The statement affirmed that the US administrations adopt a policy of classifying anyone who opposes their policies on the list of terrorist organizations to impose sanctions and exacerbate suffering

The Parliament called on the parliaments of Arab, Islamic, and international countries, as well as the free people of the world, to condemn this designation due to its consequences on the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

“This designation reflects the extent of Trump’s erratic and contradictory policies, while neglecting internal US issues,” the statement read.

The parliament warned against any suspicious actions that could undermine Yemen’s sovereignty or its capabilities.

It held the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition responsible for the deterioration of security and living conditions for citizens in the occupied provinces.
