Saudi Arabia launches large recruitment campaign in Mahra

MAHRA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday its readiness to recruit for the Dare al-Watan factions in Mahra province in eastern Yemen, in a clear challenge to the widespread local rejection by political and social components.

Dare al-Watan factions in Mahra said in a statement that registering new recruits would be limited to the province’s residents only.

The statement added that a specialized technical supervisory committee would be formed before the start of training operations, which would be responsible for conducting medical exams for applicants and verifying their identities.

It claimed these fictions would complement the security and military forces affiliated with the coalition there.

The recruitments come after it registered hundreds of extremist Salafi elements last December, amid widespread popular rejection of the formation of these factions to preserve the security and stability of Mahra, which is far from military confrontations with Sanaa forces.

The sit-in committee’s leaders against foreign presence have threatened in recent days to escalate against Saudi trends in the province following its control of Al-Ghaydah Civil Airport, overlooking the Arabian Sea in 2017, which was turned into a joint American-British military base with the Zionist forces.
