Sanaa government discusses measures to begin disbursing state employee salaries

SANAA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – The Sanaa government, led by Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, discussed on Tuesday the financial and administrative arrangements for implementing a temporary exceptional mechanism to support the payment of state employee salaries and address the issue of small depositors.

During the meeting, the measures taken by the Ministries of Finance and Civil Service to initiate the practical implementation of this temporary mechanism were reviewed, including revenue collection and preparing lists of eligible employees, with an emphasis on resolving any challenges that might arise during the disbursement process to ensure all entitled employees receive their full dues.

The discussion also touched on the mechanism adopted by the Ministry of Finance to address the concerns of small depositors, who constitute 90% of all depositors in government and commercial banks.

The Minister of Finance, Abduljabar Ahmed, outlined the steps taken by the ministry, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Yemen, to begin paying employee salaries and depositors’ entitlements.

He highlighted the expected positive impacts of this initiative on revitalizing the economy and stimulating local markets.

The attendees expressed their deep appreciation for the revolutionary and political leadership’s continued support of the government’s efforts. They underscored the importance of successfully implementing this measure, particularly given the challenging circumstances faced by the country due to ongoing aggression and imposed blockades.
