Top military commander survives assassination attempt in Marib

MARIB, July 17 (YPA) – A senior military commander survived on Thursday an assassination attempt in an armed ambush in the center of the coalition-controlled city of Marib.

A local source revealed that gunmen targeted the convoy of Brig. Gen. Nasser Ali Al-Qahih, commander of the so-called 165th Infantry Brigade and director-general of the Usaylan district in Shabwa province while being passed through the Al-Majma’ area, the center of Marib city.

According to the source, the attack resulted in severe damage to one of the accompanying military vehicle, as Al-Qahih and his security personnel escaped unharmed.
