Employees in Lahj urge for popular revolt over worsening economic conditions

LAHJ, Jan. 02 (YPA) – Hundreds of employees in Lahj province, southern Yemen, called on Thursday for a public uprising against the Saudi-led coalition and its allied government due to worsening economic conditions, salary disruptions, and service collapse.

The protesters argued that the pro-coalition government has failed to fulfill its core responsibilities, particularly in ensuring access to salaries and vital services such as electricity, leaving citizens struggling with unmet basic needs.

They asserted that the only effective solution to the growing economic and service crisis is through a collective uprising against the coalition controlling the administration of the southern provinces.

According to “Aden Al-Ghad” website, the protesters emphasized that their demands are modest and basic rights, focusing on the pursuit of a dignified life for all. They highlighted the necessity of unified action to build pressure on the coalition-backed government, aiming to confront the unbearable hardships and push for meaningful change.
