Hamas reveals fate of Kamal Adwan Hospital director

GAZA, Dec. 30 (YPA) – Hamas Movement on Monday called for exerting maximum pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to reveal the fate of Dr. Hussam Abu Safia and his colleagues who were kidnapped from Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a statement sent by the movement to the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and international human rights organizations to release Kamal Adwan Hospital’s director and his colleagues.

The statement called on the UN organizations the to work hard to provide basic medical services to civilians in the northern Gaza Strip after the occupation army destroyed all health facilities and put them out of service, in a blatant violation of all international laws.

It pointed out that Dr. Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, has been subjected to enforced disappearance since the occupation forces arrested him during their storming of the hospital and destruction of its departments last Friday.

The statement held the Zionist occupation fully responsible for his safety, and for all the nurses and paramedics who suffered the same unknown fate, after being kidnapped by the occupation, amid reports of their being subjected to abuse and ill-treatment.

Eyewitnesses affirmed that the occupation forces forced Dr. Abu Safiya to take off his clothes and severely beat with electric wires before transferring him to the Sde Teiman detention prison, which is notorious for torture.
