Military quotas in Hadramout put “Tribal Confederacy” before option of confrontation

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 30 (YPA) – Informed media sources revealed a new escalation of the Saudi-led coalition against the “Hadramout Tribal Confederacy,” which demands the legitimate rights of the people of Hadramout province from oil revenues.

The sources reported news of new military appointments in the “first and second military regions” based on political quotas between the president of the “Leadership Council” loyal to the coalition, Rashad Al-Alimi, and his deputy, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi—the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) funded by the UAE—in the coming days.

The package of decisions that will be issued to the leaders in agreement between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, including a number of Hadramout people, will preserve their common interests to avoid any clashes, according to the sources.

The sources explained that the coalition countries did not pay any attention to the demands made by the Hadramout Tribal Confederacy after it rejected the offers made by the American embassy to the pro-coalition government last month.

On the other hand, the Yemen Press Agency learned that the tribal confederacy sent armed reinforcements led by a number of soldiers loyal to it to a number of sites controlled by tribesmen in the vicinity of the Al-Hamra point, west of Mukalla, in addition to “Sharj Talib” in the Mayfa Hajar area.

Other reinforcements also headed to the coast of Lambah on the Arabian Sea in the Broum Mayfa District, adjacent to Radhom District in Shabwa province.

Local sources indicated that the Hadramout Tribal Confederacy declared armed alert following leaks, with the leadership of the coalition forces directing a number of factions loyal to the UAE, loyal to the leader of the STCl and member of the “Leader Council,” Faraj al-Bahsani, to control the points of deployment of the Tribal Confederacy’s militants.
