ABYAN, Nov. 26 (YPA) – A number of schools closed their doors to students on Tuesday in the city of Zinjibar, the center of Abyan province, in protest against the non-payment of teachers’ salaries for last October.
Local sources said that teachers refused to teach due to the Saudi-led coalition’s government’s failure to pay their salaries for last October, while students left classrooms, forcing administrations to close school doors during the first hours of the school day.
This comes amid a stifling economic crisis suffered by the pro-coalition government, which has caused delays in the payment of salaries to teachers and other employees.
