BAGHDAD, Nov. 21 (YPA) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani warned of a planned Zionist aggression against the Iraqi territories.
Al-Sudani, the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi army, chaired an emergency meeting of the National Security Ministerial Council on Tuesday after Zionist threat to launch attacks on Iraq.
Al-Sudani directed the relevant agencies to be prepared to confront this “threat,” as well as to pursue “any military activity outside the control of the state.”
Last Monday, Baghdad’s warning came after Tel Aviv revealed that it had called on the UN Security Council via a letter to take immediate action against groups attacking it from Iraq, threatening what it considered “the right to self-defense.”
The council’s meeting stressed that Israeli occupation’s accusations are nothing more than pretexts aimed at justifying a planned aggression against Iraq.
