Death toll of Israeli aggression on Gaza rises to 61,944 martyrs, 155,886 injuries

GAZA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Sunday, that the death toll from the Israeli genocide and aggression has risen to 61,944 martyrs and 155,886 injuries since October 7, 2023.

In its daily report, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that Gaza Strip hospitals received 49 martyrs, including 9 martyrs (recovered), and 326 injuries during the past 24 hours.

It indicated that the death toll from martyrs and injuries since March 18, 2025, has reached 10,400 martyrs and 43,845 injuries.

The Ministry of Health stated that the death toll of aid-seekers, the starving people who were killed by the occupation’s bullets near the alleged humanitarian aid distribution points, has risen to 1,938 martyrs and more than 14,420 injuries, as hospitals received 14 martyrs and 132 injuries during the past 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry report, Gaza Strip hospitals recorded 7 deaths over the past 24 hours, including 2 children, as a result of starvation and malnutrition, bringing the total number to 258 deaths, including 110 children.

The ministry confirmed that there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them.
