GAZA, May 22 (YPA) – 75% of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been forcibly displaced, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Wednesday.
“75% of the population of Gaza have faced forced displacement, many up to 4 or 5 times,” UNRWA said in a post on its X account.
“For thousands of Palestinian families there is nowhere left to go: military operations and bombardments pose a continuous threat, buildings have been turned to rubble.”
In an earlier post on Wednesday, UNRWA said that staff continue to support the community, providing sanitation, water, waste collection and guidance In Khan Younis.
” But the challenges are immense, including scarce water, fuel and sanitary resources. Safe and unimpeded access is needed NOW to protect people in Gaza,” UNRWA added.
