Hamas leader reveals details of ceasefire proposal

GAZA, May 07 (YPA) – The leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Khalil al-Hayya, said that the proposal presented to us by the mediators in Qatar and Egypt includes three phases.

The proposal includes a complete withdrawal from Gaza, the return of displaced persons, and an exchange of prisoners, Khalil al-Hayya told Al-Jazeera on Monday evening.

He added, ” The proposal includes an exchange of prisoners in three stages.”

Al-Hayya continued” ” The proposal includes the release of 30 individuals of the same category from the prisons of the occupation according to seniority.”

“The text of the ceasefire proposal includes the interconnection of the implementation stages.”

The proposal includes in its second phase the direct announcement of a permanent cessation of military and hostile operations, he explained.

He confirmed that the mediators told Hamas that the American president is clearly committed to ensuring the implementation of the agreement

Hamas had agreed to the amended proposals of the Egyptian and Qatari mediators regarding stopping Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
