Tunisia: Solidarity stand organized with Palestine on anniversary of Balfour Declaration

TUNISIA, Nov. 03 (YPA) – The Tunisian Network Against Normalization organized a solidarity stand with the Palestinian cause yesterday, Monday, coinciding with the anniversary of the ominous Balfour Declaration.

Dozens of demonstrators raised the Palestinian flag and banners that read, “The True Promise of Resistance: Achieves Steadfastness, Overthrows the Balfour Declaration, and Marches Towards Liberation,” chanting slogans including “Palestine is Arab, No Concessions on the Cause” and “With our souls, with our blood, we will redeem you, Palestine.”

November 2, 1917, marks the date when British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour issued his promise to establish a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, a promise that turned Palestinians into refugees. UNRWA estimates their number at approximately 5.9 million, with more than 1.5 million living in 58 camps inside Palestine and the diaspora.
