Sanaa refers 18 defendants in corruption cases to prosecution

SANAA, May 07 (YPA) – The Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) in its regular meeting Monday, approved the referral of 18 defendants in a number of serious corruption cases to the Public Funds Prosecution.

This comes to complete the procedures for filing the criminal case before the Public Funds Court, which specializes in corruption cases, as the amount of damage to public funds in those cases amounted to 307,160,000 Yemeni riyals.

The authority also approved measures and procedures for seizing the funds of the accused, equivalent to the amount of damage to public funds in the corruption cases referred to, as well as suspending the accused from work.

In its meeting, the authority also ordered the completion of investigation, examination, and review procedures regarding the fate of the amount of 2,356,241,000 riyals and to track down the organizations that should have promoted and financed development projects in one of the provinces for the benefit of Yemeni society.
