103 tons of expired foodstuffs destroyed in Sanaa

SANAA, May 05 (YPA) – The Office of Industry and Trade in the Capital Secretariat destroyed on Sunday, 103 tons and 530 kilograms of expired food supplies that were not fit for human consumption.

The director of the Office of Industry and Trade in the secretariat, Majed Al-Sada, explained that the destruction process took place in accordance with legal procedures during the past week, and with the participation of a member of the Industry Prosecution.

He stressed the keenness to strengthen the field oversight work carried out by the Industry Office and its branches in the directorates, on markets and foodstuffs, to control violations, and to confiscate and destroy expired materials.
