SANAA, May 01 (YPA) – Head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee in Sanaa, Abdul Qadir Al-Mortada, revealed on Tuesday the international preparations to agree on implementing a new prisoner exchange deal.
“We met with the Deputy UN Envoy, Mr. Sarhad Fatah,” he said in a post on X. During the meeting, the prisoners’ file and the obstacles that prevent to make progress were discussed.”
Al-Mortada said that the Sarhad Fatah would invite all parties to attend a new round of negotiations to agree on implementing a new exchange deal in the coming days.
He stressed Sanaa’s keenness to move forward with the prisoners’ file as it is a humanitarian file that requires all parties to deal positively and credibly in order to alleviate the suffering of the prisoners and their families.
