ADEN, March 17 (YPA) – A tribal sheikh from Abyan province was kidnapped on Sunday in the coalition-held Aden city, south of Yemen.

Local sources in the city said that gunmen believed to belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions arrested one of sheikhs of Bakazim tribe in Abyan was while he was in Aden.

The sources indicated that the gunmen demanded the sheikh Sanad Al-Aqrabi to release their brother, who was kidnapped by members of the tribe in Bakazim in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan.
On the other hand, the son of the owner of the Rose Aden Hotel was also subjected to kidnapping by militants wearing military uniforms after they stormed the hotel.

The hotel owner explained in a statement that the STC members stormed the hotel, assaulted its workers, and took his son to an unknown destination.

He pointed out that there was no reason to storm and kidnap his son, calling on the Aden authorities to release his son.

Aden city has become an arena for settling scores among citizens amid security chaos as a result of the absence of state authorities since the second half of 2015.
