Saudi Arabia forces Emirati commander to leave Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 19 (YPA) – The Saudi military command has forced an Emirati-backed armed faction’s commander to leave Hadramout province following an escalation against the head of a pro-Riyadh tribal alliance.

Sources familiar with the matter said Saleh Ali Hussein Abu Bakr, known as Abu Ali al-Hadrami, the commander of the UAE-backed Security Support Forces, left Mukallaon  Monday for Abu Dhabi, following Saudi pressure on the leadership of the UAE forces stationed at Al-Rayyan Airport.

The sources explained that Abu Ali al-Hadrami, who serves as an advisor to the UAE-funded head of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous al-Zubaidi, attempted to destabilize the Hadramout coast by preparing and staging an armed campaign against the head of the tribal alliance, Amr bin Habrish al-Ali, last week.

This comes after the STC dispatched Security Support factions, led by Abu Ali al-Hadrami, to the Brom Mayfa’a camps west of Mukalla in early August, following their training at the Jabal Hadid camp in Aden city, south of Yemen.
