Sanaa denies media reports on imposing royalties on EU ships

SANAA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister of Sanaa, Hussein Al-Ezzi, denied on Wednesday claims circulated by media reports about imposing financial royalties by Sanaa on European ships in exchange for allowing them to pass through the Red Sea.

“We categorically deny the weak statements and news published by Al-Hadath TV Channel about Sanaa taking revenues from European ships,” Al-Ezzi said in a post on the X platform.

He added: “I believe this channel should respect the minds of its viewers and abandon these absurdities that contradict the most basic alphabet of media professionalism.”
