Armed attack targets pro-UAE leader in Taiz

TAIZ, Feb. 15 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen waged on Thursday an attack on Thursday a pro-UAE official’s house in the center of the city of Taiz, southern Yemen.

Sources familier with the matter said that the gunmen, who are believed to belong to the Islah Party, attacked the house of Bassam Al-Sanomi, who serves in the secretariat of the political office of UAE-backed Tariq Afash, the nephew of the farmer president Ali Abdullah Selah, with a hand grenade in Al-Majliya neighborhood on the Jabal Sabr Road.

The sources pointed out that the explosion caused a state of panic among the citizens, without any party claiming responsibility for the attack.
