Sanaa puts 16 types of foreign products into ban

SANAA, Jan. 24 (YPA) – Sanaa-based Ministry of Agriculture imposed a ban on the import of 16 types of crops, plant and animal products.

Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, the deputy ministry and head of the ministry’s marketing committee, identified that the banned products as ground garlic, dried onions, maize for human consumption, sausages and boneless chicken, sheep liver, the frozen meat of the sheep, beef and birds, as well as chilled potato slices, roses, natural flowers and figs.

Al-Rubai pointed out that a decision was issued to continue banning the import of 11 types of crops and plant products, including “millet, sorghum, raisins, and all different types the foreign apples, cowpeas, red hot peppers, guava, as well as all different varieties of the frozen vegetables, and plum leaves.”

He affirmed that the decision came to protect the local product, and after several choices by the Ministry to cancel participation in the market for the needs of these vegetables and plant and animal crops.

Al-Rubai called on importers of crops, plant and animal products to adhere to the circular and cooperate with the Ministry in implementing the strategy to protect local products.
