ANGOLA, Oct. 24 (YPA) – Algeria’s parliamentary delegation boycotted on Tuesday the speech of the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Duarte Pacheco, during the meeting of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Angola.

According to the Algerian News Agency, the Algerian parliamentary delegation participating in the work of the Union boycotted the Pacheco’s speech, in protest against his bias towards the Zionist occupation that commits the heinous crimes in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The agency confirmed that the parliamentary delegation left the hall, along with the delegations of the Arab Parliament, Palestine, Kuwait and Iran, while the Pacheco was delivering his opening speech.

After that, the Algerian parliamentary delegation returned again to the meeting hall, to listen to the speech delivered by the President of the Republic of Angola, Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, who expressed his concern about the situation in the Gaza Strip, and announced that all necessary measures should be taken to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Strip.
