Libya’s Derna death toll rises to over 4,000

WORLD, Sept. 26 (YPA) – The Libyan National Army announced on Tuesday that the death toll from floods that hit the Libyan city of Derna earlier this month has risen to more than 4,000.

The Army spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari said in the latest death toll from floods hit the city of Derna, until September 24, reached 4,029 dead.

“There are 87 bodies of Egyptians, not included in the statistics, they had been handed over to the Egyptian authorities for burial in their country,” al-Mismari added.
