Pro-coalition Hadramout governer bans protests in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 25 (YPA) – Governor of Hadramawt, loyal to the Saudi-led coalition on Monday, approved the ban on peaceful protests in Mukalla, the administrative center of the oil province.

This coincides with important developments in the file of the governorate, which is in the midst of difficult labor to chart its future.

Mabkhout Bin Madi held an emergency meeting with members of the security committee, which includes commanders of military and security units, the first since returning from Saudi Arabia hours ago.

Local media reported that the meeting approved a ban on any demonstrations or gatherings in the city.

It also included directives to coordinate and raise maximum readiness.

The decision of banning the demonstrations coincides with important developments, as the UAE-backed Southern Transnational Council (STC)’s plan to escalate in the province with high-level meetings of its leaders, leading to the start of demonstrations demanding the departure of the governor from the neighboring city of Shihr.
