Abyan tribes hold rally to escalate against STC militias

ABYAN, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Sheikhs and tribes of Abyan province, south of Yemen, organized on Saturday a protest rally to escalate against the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions in Aden city.

Social and tribal figures in the province issued a statement condemning the process of marginalization and exclusion practiced by the STC against the people of Abyan, demanding that the coalition’s Presidency Leadership Council, led by Rashad al-Alimi, quickly return the Abyan people to the forefront of the scene.

The rally called for the speedy lifting of STC’s points in the province and the cessation of what was described as levies on commercial items.
